Casa Farina: A Great Granbury, TX Bed and Breakfast

Bed and Breakfast in Granbury, TX

Located on the historic Granbury Square, Casa Farina is the perfect place to start your Granbury getaway! The historic building alone is enough to be excited about, and the owners have succeeded in preserving the historic feel without sacrificing modern amenities.

Driving up, you are greeted to a gorgeous red brick building that was originally built in 1893 with a fabulous cast iron staircase climbing up the side.  (We were told that this staircase is the most photographed place in Granbury.)  Look closely to see the old doorways that peek out from under the quaint “Casa Farina” sign.  A nod to the past as the front facade of the building has been altered over the decades.

    Suites at Casa Farina

This charming bed and breakfast in Granbury, TX is home to three great suites, making it the perfect intimate experience for your time in Granbury.  After checking in at Farina’s Winery and Cafe, guests ride up the antique elevator to the third floor.

The three suites include the Siena Suite, the Renaissance Revival Suite, and the Jesse James Suite.  Each of which has been meticulously decorated with beautiful antique furnishings chosen by the owners, Gary and Robbie Farina.

The Siena Suite boasts a queen-size walnut Italian bed with specialty bed coverings, a small sitting area with a flat-screen television, and a great Jacuzzi tub/shower combination.  The Renaissance Revival Suite also has a gorgeous queen-size bed, Jacuzzi tub, and beautiful antique furnishings that make you feel right at home.

We loved that both had a small sitting area making the rooms feel charming and cozy.

All suites also include free parking, free wi-fi, satellite television, Keurig with coffee and tea selections, bath amenities, individual temperature control, refrigerator, and microwave.

    Jesse James Suite

Casa Farina Room-Things to do in Granbury TX

We had the pleasure of staying in the Jesse James Suite during our stay at Casa Farina.

Walking into the Jesse James suite took my breath away.  The gorgeous tall ceilings accentuated the ten-foot windows that surrounded us in the room.  Moving closer, I noted that the windows gave way to a fabulous view of the historic Granbury Square.

The details of the room included beautiful woodwork and moldings, incredible antiques, and modern-day amenities like a Keurig coffee maker, refrigerator, and flat-screen television. There were several different sitting areas in the room, and an electric fireplace in the corner, perfect for a cold winter evening.

The bed was an incredible pre-Civil War solid rosewood frame that we were informed is antique and very rare.  A very comfortable queen-sized mattress topped it, making it the perfect place to cozy with a good book!

The bathroom at this bed and breakfast in Granbury, TX is just as incredible as the rest of the room.  The gorgeous vanity is the perfect vessel to house all of your makeup and toiletries on.  In the corner, there is a huge Jacuzzi tub big enough for two.

A glass of wine and this Jacuzzi tub made for the perfect end to a great day in Granbury!

If you aren’t a tub person, don’t worry.  There is also a great walk-in shower in the Jesse James suite.

The manager informed us that the suite is named the Jesse James Suite because Jesse James himself stayed here.  They said that this was the room he always stayed in because it looked over the bank across the street.  Supposedly, the only bank that he ever put his money in.

    Dining Options at Casa Farina

    Restaurants in Granbury, TX-Farina's Winery

Casa Farina is located right above Farina’s Winery and Cafe, which are also owned and operated by Mr. and Mrs. Farina.

Walking into Farina’s Winery and Cafe you are immediately greeted with a beautiful antique bar.  This bar came from a Chicago bar that was frequented by Al Capone!

As Mr. Farina is an avid antique collector, you will see antiques throughout Farina’s just as you do in the suites upstairs.  I love the exposed rock wall and all of the fabulous details that you find throughout the restaurant, especially those medieval doors!

Farina’s offers a fabulous selection of food, wine, and beer for you to enjoy.

We had Farina’s signature red blend wine and it was fabulous.  Pairing our wine with the Farm House Cheese Board was a great start to our meal.  After the appetizer, we enjoyed some fabulous Italian food for dinner.

It was chilly the night of our visit, so we chose to eat inside, but if the weather permits, I would suggest that you sit out on Farina’s patio to enjoy your wine and meal.

Farina’s is open daily and happy hour is hosted Monday through Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.

Of course, if you are staying in Casa Farina Bed and Breakfast upstairs, then you have the option of having your meal, wine, or just dessert delivered straight to your room.  I have to admit that I had a glass of wine for my bath in that fabulous jacuzzi tub.

For breakfast, Casa Farina provides its guests with vouchers to a local bakery cafe on the square.  We were given vouchers to The Nut House Bakery and Cafe.

Here we enjoyed a delicious breakfast with blueberry pancakes, eggs, bacon, cinnamon toast, and coffee.   It was an easy walk and the perfect start to the day.
