So many people have bucket lists. They help us to ensure that we are able to check off the major things we want to do in life before we expire.
We think that traveling as a couple is one of the most amazing experiences that you can have with your significant other.
So, that got us to thinking…why not have a couples bucket list? I mean travel helps to build your relationship by creating lasting memories and experiences that only the two of you will share.
To help you out, we thought we would share our couple’s bucket list!
Marty and I have already started checking items off of this list. It is actually what lead us to create our blog.
So even if you don’t use all of the items here, maybe they will inspire you to create a couples bucket list of your own.
Of course, during the times that you can’t travel, then you can always create one of our stay at home date ideas for couples that love to travel. These will make you feel like you have been transported to a far off land.

101 Travel Experiences to Add to You Couples Bucket List
Explore Las Vegas!
I know, there is no guarantee that you are going to win in Las Vegas but you can sure have fun trying! Vegas is so much more than gambling though.
I mean there are so many things to do in Las Vegas that are free or cheap that you and your loved one can stay plenty busy just seeing the sights.
Of course, there are also many romantic hotels in Las Vegas for you and your sweetie to relax.
See the Changing of the Guards
The changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace is certainly a display of pomp and circumstance at it’s finest.
But, hey, isn’t that the reason we are all infatuated with British Royalty? We so loved our time in London, we feel that everyone should visit.
I must admit that I enjoyed the Tower of London more than the changing of the guards.
Take a Helicopter Ride Over Hawaii
I have dreamed of taking a helicopter ride over Hawaii ever since I was a little girl. I would love to see all of the beautiful foliage, the amazing waterfalls, or the volcanoes from the air.
If Hawaii isn’t your thing, then insert any city at the end of this one. Things look completely different when you have a bird’s eye view.
Spend a Luxurious Night in Dubai
No other town is as opulent as Dubai. Imagine spending a night in one of Dubai’s luxurious hotels.
Some of the best places to stay in Dubai include incredible views and fabulous amenities. Man would this be amazing!
Visit the Ha’iku Stairs
The Ha’iku Stairs, or the Stairway to Heaven, in Hawaii, looks gorgeous.
This steep hiking trail in Oahu might be a little too much to handle if you aren’t in good shape, but I think it would be worth it to witness those incredible views together.
Get Lost in Venice
I’m sure that a visit to Venice is probably on most people’s couples bucket list. I mean, Venice is one of the most romantic places on Earth in my opinion.
Wander through the alleyways and streets, getting lost with your loved one. It will feel like total romance in Venice because the city is so picturesque around every turn!
Spot Wildlife on an African Safari
An African safari would create so many memories for you and your loved one. I can just imagine the stories we will be able to tell once we check this off of our list.
Drink Port Wine in Portugal
Port wine is one of life’s sweet pleasures in my opinion. So why not go to the place where port wine originated, Portugal.
I can just imagine touring the port wine caves and getting to taste this delicious nectar straight from the barrels.
Go Snow Tubing or Skiing
Even though I haven’t blogged about this yet, Marty and I have been snow tubing together and we had a fabulous time!
We had so much fun in Winter Park, Colorado snow tubing and skiing that writing this makes me want to book us another trip :).
Swim With the Sea Turtles in Mexico
I’m sure couples across the world dream of walking hand in hand along the soft sands of a tropical beach. One of our favorite places to do this is Cancun, Mexico.
We love visiting Cancun and the Riviera Maya in Mexico when we are in the mood for a beach getaway.
They are only a 3-hour flight from Dallas, yet you feel like you are a world away once you arrive.
An awesome experience in the Riviera Maya is to swim with the sea turtles. We tell you how you can easily accomplish this in our post outlining the things to do in the Riviera Maya.
Couples Bucket List
Drink Wine in Tuscany
There is an awesome feeling that comes with tasting a product in the region where it is produced. Trust me!
We took a day tour for Florence into the Chianti region allowing me to taste Chianti in the Chianti region, and it was fabulous! I would love to drink Montepulciano wine in Montepulciano. Italy as well!
Take a tour of a fabulous winery (or two) in Tuscany and enjoy the fruits of their labor while you overlook the beautiful countryside.
I mean, this is one of Italy’s wine regions, so you have to visit it if you are in the area!
Visit Each Other’s Heritage Countries
It is fun to know your partner’s heritage and then to explore that together. Take time to learn about their genealogy and then take a trip to explore the region that your partner’s ancestors are from.
Marty and I had a great time exploring my roots in Paris while on our honeymoon.
We then later took a trip to Germany to explore his roots, spending time in Munich, Bacharach, and Nuremberg.
Eat Gelato In Italy
If you have ever eaten gelato in Rome or Venice, then you totally understand why we added this to our couples bucket list.
The gelato just tastes better in Italy. I can’t explain it, but it does. Besides, do you really need an excuse to go to Italy?
Picnic In Front of the Eiffel Tower
Of course, the Eiffel Tower would make its way onto our couples bucket list1
Paris is the iconic city of romance, and the Eiffel Tower is the iconic attraction of Paris, so it only makes sense.
While visiting Paris, why not pack a fun picnic to enjoy on the grass in front of the Eiffel Tower, or take the perfect picture of you and your loved one kissing with the tower in the background.
This is definitely something we have checked off our list!
Sleep in a Castle
Is it just me or do all little girls dream of being a princess?
Well, even if you didn’t dream of that, I’m sure most people dream of at least visiting a castle at some point. I say why not take it a step further in sleep in a castle.
There are castle hotels all over Europe. Marty and I love staying at Thirlestane Castle during our trip to Scotland. So much so that I am sure we will stay in other castles in the future.
Repel Down a Waterfall
Yes, I said repel down a waterfall. Marty and I had the opportunity to do this while visiting Puerto Vallarta and loved it.
Doing adventurous activities like this together with your loved one allows you to create trust with one another while bonding over a fun activity.
Lounge in the Thermal Waters of a Volcano
The Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica has been drawing visitors for years. When you are ready to visit, don’t forget to spend some time lounging in the natural hot springs that are produced by this volcano.
Visit the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, Turkey
The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, Turkey is not only one of the largest covered markets in the world, it is also the oldest.
Could you imagine the stories that you can tell after you and your loved one wander through the 61 covered streets of this market? Just try not to get lost!
Stay at a Romantic Bed & Breakfast
Here is another easy one for you to accomplish.
Stay in a romantic bed and breakfast with your sweetie. Again, this can be as simple or as complex as you want it to be.
If you live in Texas like us, there are several options in Fredericksburg and Wimberley for you to choose from.
Check out the small towns around you and book a little getaway at a romantic b&b for you and your significant other.
Bask in the Sun on the Italian Riviera
The Italian Riviera is a beautiful stretch of coastline in Italy that includes Portofino, Cinque Terre, and Santa Margherita Ligure.
Spend a day with your loved one basking in the sun while you eat gelato and sip wine all day.
Definitely, something to put on your couples bucket list. Trust us!
View Amazing Artwork at the Louvre
Paris is home to countless masterpieces and works of art. Why not spend the afternoon contemplating the artist’s intention with your honey?
Of course, the Louvre is the most famous place in Paris to view the masterpieces. Just plan in advance as the Louvre gets crowded!
Admire the Beauty of the Sistine Chapel
You don’t have to be religious to enjoy the splendor of the Vatican. This amazing complex houses priceless works of art, especially Michelangelo’s masterpiece, the Sistine Chapel.
Sit in awe of this beauty when you and your honey visit the Vatican.
Just remember to dress appropriately unlike us on our first trip to Rome. LOL!
Drive a Classic Car in Cuba
Every time I think of Cuba, I think of old cars. I guess because in mind that is iconic Cuba.
Well, now that Cuba is open to tourists again, I had to add it to our couples bucket list.
Eat Key Lime Pie in the Keys
Honestly, doing a Florida Road Trip, in general, should be on everyone’s list.
While doing this road trip, be sure part of your itinerary includes heading down south to the Florida Keys so that you can check this one off of your list. I mean, eating key lime pie in the Florida Keys just makes sense to me.
I mean, it isn’t the only reason to visit, but it sure is a fun one.
Cruise the Romantic Rhine in German
The UNESCO World Heritage portion of the Rhine Valley in Germany known as the ‘Romantic Rhine’ is a great to cruise as a couple. The castles of the Romantic Rhine date back to the medieval days and seem to dot the hillside everywhere you look.
In addition to the castles, the small towns of the Rhine Valley are just little gems waiting to be explored.
We especially loved visiting Bacharach, Germany, and drinking some of their would famous wine.
Sleep Under the Northern Lights
I have always wanted to see the Northern Lights in Iceland!
The Northern lights have mesmerized people for centuries, and I don’t see that stopping any time soon. How romantic would it be to lay under the stars with your honey and watch the northern lights before dosing off in each other’s arms?
I mean, honestly, who wouldn’t want to spend 36 hours in Reykjavik and see not only the northern lights but all of the other magnificent sites of Iceland?!
Party Together at Mardi Gras
OK, this might not be for everyone, but it definitely made our couples bucket list. Marty and I love New Orleans and visit several times a year, so it made sense for us to include this one.
Honestly, it is a one of a kind experience to stand shoulder to shoulder with perfect strangers as you cheer on the parade participants trying to catch your fair share of beads!
Tour the Lost City of Pompeii
Stepping back in time in an ancient city really brings things into perspective.
I remember standing in Pompeii just in awe of all of the marvelous structures and artwork that were still intact after all of these years.
Marty and I had a great time exploring this area yet we still felt as though we only saw a portion of it.
See the Beauty of Yellowstone
Yellowstone National Park is known worldwide for its natural beauty. Imagine standing with your loved one when Old Faithful blows!
Be a Tourist in Your Hometown
Here is an item we often overlook, being a tourist in our own town. This is a fun way to spice up a date night with your significant other.
Research your hometown as if you were a tourist and go to those places that you all take for granted. We often take for granted that we live in an amazing area, Dallas-Fort Worth.
Researching the area made me remember all of the great things to do in Dallas-Fort Worth that we take for granted and don’t visit.
Drive in Another Country
Driving in another country, especially one that drives on the opposite side of the road than you do, can be an adventure in and of itself. Take this opportunity to help each other and reassure the driver that they got this.
I know our experience in Scotland did not start out as a positive one (at one point I stopped the car and just cried), but it did get better as the trip progressed.
Honestly, this experience is something that Marty and I still laugh at to this day.
Dive Into the Crystal Clear Waters of Greece
Greece has always been on my bucket list. As many times as we have been to Europe, I don’t understand how we haven’t made it to Greece yet? Anyway, I digress.
The Greek islands have so much to offer in respect to romance, so it only makes sense that we have them on this list.
Imagine watching the sunset among the beautiful whitewash houses of Santorini or cliff diving into their beautiful blue waters
Couples Bucket List
Drink a Huge Beer in Munich
There is really so much more to Munich, so I don’t want to mislead you, but having a beer in Munich was definitely a must-do on our couples bucket list, and we don’t really even drink beer!
I just wanted my picture with one of those huge beer steins! LOL! Whether you choose to do this during Oktoberfest or not is up to you! ?
Visit an Exotic Island
How amazing would it be to visit an exotic island with your loved one? I mean a really exotic island, like Seychelles or Bora Bora. We haven’t experienced this yet, but I will let you know when we do!
Stay in a Treehouse Castle
This might sound a little silly, but it is actually quite fun. There are treehouse cabins all over the United States.
We found the perfect little treehouse cabin for us in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. It was a castle! It had a makeshift drawbridge and a hidden room!
Our treehouse experience was really special for us as we got married in Eureka Spring before staying in our treehouse castle!
See Angel Falls
Angel Falls in Venezuela is the world’s highest uninterrupted waterfall. I bet it is breathtaking. I would love to stand in awe of this masterpiece!
Drive the Road to Hana
I have always dreamed of driving the road to Hana on Hawaii’s beautiful island of Maui.
Imagine you and your loved one cruising with the top down stopping at all of the beautiful waterfalls and scenic lookout points as you make your way from Kahului to Hana.
Throw a Coin in the Trevi Fountain
Legend has it that if you throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain then you are guaranteed to return to Rome.
During our first visit to Rome, the Trevi was being remodeled. They only had one small pool of water in the very front.
I made Marty join me in pushing our way through the crowd to throw our coins in. Despite the crowds and lack of water, we accomplished our task.
And guess what? We returned to Rome!
Explore the Kentucky Bourbon Trail
The Kentucky Bourbon Trail is a 4-day driving adventure that allows you to explore the distillers in Kentucky. The trail takes approximately 4 days to complete and allows you to truly dive into Kentucky Bourbon.
I’m sure my brother would love to do this with us!
Attend the Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Festival
I would love to attend the Albuquerque Hot Air Balloon Festival with Marty. I can imagine that the glow ceremony is gorgeous but I bet so is seeing all of the balloons flying across the sky!
Drive the Iconic Route 66
Driving the historic Route 66 highway just seems like a fun, all-American thing to do. While we have been on stretches of this historic highway, we have never driven the entire route.
Do a Wine Trail
A wine trail is a fun activity to do together as a couple. Marty and I first started doing wine trails way back before we were even blogging.
Come to think of it, one of our first posts was about a Wine Trail here in Texas that we did called the Mardi Gras Wine Trail.
We have continued to do wine trails throughout Texas every year. You would be surprised at all of the wineries that are in Texas, our favorite area being Fredericksburg.
See the Roman Aqueducts
The Roman aqueducts are so intriguing to us. I think it is because we respect the fact that the Romans were such great engineers.
Seeing the aqueducts is an amazing experience that we wouldn’t trade for the world. Read all about it in our awesome things to do in Rome post.
Ride in a Hot Air Balloon
Soar above the Earth while sipping champagne and admiring the world around you. This is one of the many romantic experiences in Las Vegas for couples.
Heck, really, this is an experience you can have tons of places in the world. Do some research and find the place that is best suited for you.
Sip Some Whisky in Scotland
Yes, I spelled the word whisky correctly. When you are talking about Scottish whisky, you leave out the ‘e’. That’s because Scottish whisky is special.
We had so much fun learning about and tasting Scottish whisky during our time in Scotland. We still sip on one of the bottles we brought back.
Soak in a Hot Spring
There are so many great natural hot springs around the world. People have relied on these natural springs for years to relieve their ailments and relax.
So why not experience this indulgence with your loved one.
We loved our time in Hot Springs, Arkansas even though the men and women had to experience the baths separately.
Get Scared on a Ghost Tour
Ghost tours are a fun way to learn about some of the history and paranormal activity of a town.
Do your research first though. Some are better than others.
While we had a great time on our New Orleans ghost tour, we have taken some ghost tours that we not so stellar.
Even then, we got a good laugh from them, so it was still a fun experience.
Take a Selfie in Front of the Golden Gate Bridge
Seeing the iconic Golden Gate Bridge should be on everyone’s bucket list. This amazing structure has symbolized San Francisco for so long that it is a must-do!
Another awesome adventure that I could love to do in California is to drive the Pacific Coast Highway!
Stroll Hand in Hand on a River Walk
Taking a stroll with your honey probably happens on a regular basis, but taking that stroll along a scenic river walk can turn that stroll into treasured memories.
We so enjoyed walking hand in hand strolling along the river walk in Savannah, and of course, we visit the San Antonio river walk often as well.
Stay on a Historic Ship
Staying on a historic ship is such a great experience, and so many historic ships are now transformed into hotels for tourists to enjoy.
Marty and I loved our stay on the historic Queen Mary. We chose to go during the Queen Mary Christmas celebration.
Not only did we get to enjoy the beautiful ship, but the Queen Mary had so many special events planned to celebrate the holiday season that it made our stay even more special.
Ice Skate at Rockefeller Center
Even though we have been to New York, we have yet to visit during the winter. I honestly don’t know if this Texas couple can survive the cold.
If we do make it to New York during Christmas then you can bet that we are going to ice skate in Rockefeller Center.
Visit a Historic Plantation
Again, this may not be for everyone, and I totally understand if not. I do want to preface this with the fact that we in no way condone or promote the slavery that took place on these historic properties.
We do, however, think it is important to learn about the history associated with them.
We visited several Louisiana plantations and feel they did an excellent job of telling the history of the home and farm. Houmas House and Gardens is a fabulous retreat if you are interested in staying on a plantation as well.
Surround Yourself with Tulips in Amsterdam
The tulip fields in Amsterdam look so beautiful, so why not add this to your couples bucket list.
I can just imagine seeing the gorgeous fields of colored flowers for as far as the eye can see.
See the Cherry Blossoms Bloom
I can only imagine that the cherry blossoms in bloom are so fragrant. While I haven’t had the luxury of this experience yet, I feel like it is just something that you have to see at least once in your life.
I would probably have to go see them in Washington D.C. or Japan to check this item off of my couples bucket list.
Pig Out on a Food Tour
Food is a great way to connect with people and with the culture of an area. We love food tours and take them almost every time we visit a new region.
We still laugh about the black pudding that we tried in Dublin, and my mouth waters every time I think about the shrimp and grits that I ate in Savannah.
Go on a Swamp Tour
This item from our couples bucket list was accomplished on a fun day trip from New Orleans. It sounds quirky, but it was really fun. We went on a fun riverboat swamp tour.
Not only did we get to see several gators, but we also got to hold a baby one!
Admire the Great Pyramids in Egypt
Again, with the ancient places, I know. We just love history and I feel like you have to see the wonders of the world, right?
I feel like everyone should see the great pyramids at least once in their life. To think of how these were constructed and the history that goes along with them amazes me.
Take a Christmas Light Tour
There is something about the holidays that seems magical. I think it is all of the lights and just the general feeling of happiness in the air.
We love visiting our Texas Christmas destinations this time of year to drink hot cocoa and look at Christmas lights together.
Find a place near you or come on down to Texas when you are ready to check this off of your couples bucket list.
Watch Fireworks in New York City
What is more American than watching fireworks over the Statue of Liberty?
Granted, they don’t always shoot them off over the Statue of Liberty, but maybe you will get lucky! We were able to check this item off of our list one year on the Fourth of July.
Too bad they didn’t shoot them off around the Statue that year.
Attend Carnival in Brazil
In my opinion, Carnival in Brazil looks like the party to end all parties. I had the chance to visit Brazil and teach English there while working on my graduate degree.
I would love for Marty and I to go back and celebrate Carnival together!
Hear Big Ben Ring Out in London
Another iconic structure, Big Ben is a symbol of London that is known throughout the world.
We had such a fun time touring London and feel like every couple should have this on their couples bucket list. Although, Big Ben was undergoing restorations while we were there. ?
Visit a Floating Market in Bangkok, Thailand
The intrigue of Bangkok has mesmerized me for years. I can just imagine all of the awesome energy that the city exudes.
Of course, when we visit Bangkok, a visit to the floating market will definitely be on our list.
Take in the View from Monte Solarno
Visiting the island of Capri is an epic experience. Taking the ferry from Naples to Capri allows you to see Mount Vesuvius in all of its glory before arriving at the island.
Once you get to Capri, not only do you need to not only visit the famous Blue Grotto, but you also need to take the chair lift to the top of Mount Solarno.
Trust us, the views are epic!
Eat Belgium Waffles in Belgium
Does this one even need an explanation? While researching Belgium using my trusty Pinterest account, every blog post I read mentioned the waffles in Belgium.
They honestly made my mouth water so I had to add it to our couples bucket list.
See the Mayan Ruins of Chichen Itza
The Mayan Ruins carry such an incredible history with them. The sheer size of the temples and the complex is incredible.
If you are a history lover, then a visit to Chichen Itza should definitely be on your couples bucket list.
Hold Up the Leaning Tower of Pisa
Marty and I always wanted to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I will never forget the day we finally visited.
Upon arriving, we were surrounded by people trying to hold up the tower. I mean they were everywhere.
If you’re interested, you can see a video on our Instagram in our “Italy” story highlights.
Of course, I had to get in on the action so Marty took an awesome photo of me doing the same! While you’re visiting our Instagram, why not give us a follow?
Lay On the Beach in Phuket
Phuket is a city that has been on my radar for years.
Honestly, the beaches of Thailand are so incredible, I don’t know why they wouldn’t be on everyone’s list?!
Combine that with my love for spicy food and I might never leave Thailand once I finally make it there!
Watch the Sunset Over the Grand Canyon
The majestic Grand Canyon has to look even more amazing with the sun setting off on the horizon. Find your honey and make this one happen for sure!
Go On a Romantic River Cruise in Paris
A cruise on the Seine River is a must-do for couples visiting Paris. There are so many cruises to choose from, but if you really want to impress your significant other, then you should definitely consider the dinner river cruise.
There is just something about Paris at night.
Stand in the Lights of Time Square
There is something energizing about New York. It’s probably just the hustle and bustle of the people and the constant noise that engulf you when visiting.
One of the iconic places of New York is, of course, Times Square. Take your honey there and be amazed by the feeling of this famous area.
See the Great Wall of China
Another of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Great Wall of China would be so amazing to see in person. Imagine the stories and the pictures that the two of you can share about your experience visiting the Great Wall of China.
Climb a Waterfall in Jamaica
I know that I mentioned earlier about repelling down a waterfall, but this time we are going to climb a waterfall. Dunns River Falls in Jamaica seems like the perfect place to accomplish this task!
Experience the Beauty of the Emerald Isle
Ireland is on so many people’s list of places to visit, and with good reason. The Emerald Isle is full of natural beauty and wonderful people.
We made Dublin our home during our time in Ireland and enjoyed the city so much. It was a great hub to take some day trips in Ireland, but I still feel like we missed a huge portion of Ireland.
We will for sure go back one day!
Kiss in the Mist of Niagara Falls
The sheer power of Niagara Falls is something to be admired, but I imagine my experience being a little more romantic. I think Marty should dip kiss me in front of the falls!
Don’t know about our dip kiss? Oh, then you have to head to our Instagram! It is full of dip kiss pics of us and some of them tell the story behind it! While you’re there, go ahead and give us a follow.
Study the History of Stonehenge
Stonehenge has fascinated people for generations. This ancient site is an easy day trip from London and definitely one to add to your couples bucket list.
Go Glamping
I guess technically you could combine this one with the African safari and check two things off of your couples bucket list at a time. If you aren’t headed to Africa anytime soon, then you can still go glamping.
There are so many resorts that highlight the glamping lifestyle that I am sure you can easily find one near you.
Dive the Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef is one of the biggest natural reefs in the world. Diving this reef with your significant other will give you memories that you will cherish for a lifetime.
I guess if I want to check this one off of my couples bucket list I better get dive certified?!
Explore Dubrovnik, Croatia
Becoming more popular since the hit HBO show Game of Thrones, Dubrovnik is rich in history and intrigue. I can just imagine roaming the ancient streets of this European town.
Hike Through Banff National Park
There are so many gorgeous areas in Canada, but the one that tops my list of places to visit is Banff. The gorgeous mountain peaks and the wildlife here have to be like no other.
See the Sky in Montana
Montana is known for it’s ‘big sky’. So much so that there is even a town there named “Big Sky”.
I would love to see how many stars I could spot from here. Imagine you and your loved one sipping hot cocoa as you stargaze for hours.
Zipline through Underground Caves
Yes, you read that correctly. There is a zipline that goes through an underground cave in Kentucky.
While we haven’t experienced it yet, it is definitely on my list!!
Swim With the Pigs
Exuma Island in the Bahamas is known for its pigs that love to frolic in the ocean with visitors. Although this is a little unconventional, I could imagine that you and your partner would get several laughs out of this experience.
Hike Rocky Mountain National Park
Rocky Mountain National Park is gorgeous any time of year, but I especially love to hike this area in the spring when the animals are all coming back around after a cold winter.
Marty and I love to visit the fabulous little town of Estes Park before making our way into Rocky Mountian National Park.
Marvel at the Taj Mahal
I’m sure there are plenty of reasons to visit India, but I definitely want to see the gorgeous Taj Mahal in person. What about you?
Explore the Ruins in Petra
I know that the famous archaeological site in southwest Jordan is on many people’s couples bucket list.
Also known as the “Rose City”, it looks like a myriad of caves, temples, and tombs carved out of the pink sandstone.
Hike in Cinque Terre
The five coastal towns that make up the Cinque Terre in Italy are outstanding. They are all connected by a series of hiking trails that have you hugging the beautiful Italian Riviera as you wander from one town to the next.
We fell in love with each and every town during our visit. They are all so unique and gorgeous!
If you happen to be in Florence, then getting from Florence to Cinque Terre is pretty easy. ?
Go Whale Watching
I can just picture the majesty associated with these incredible ocean giants. Couldn’t you just see yourself and your loved one mesmerized by the whales?
Of course, you have to have the perfect place to go whale watching. After doing some research, we decided that whale watching in Monterey, California would be perfect for us when we are ready to book our trip!
Hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
Set high in the Andes Mountains, the ancient city of Machu Picchu has to be full of secrets.
What a cool experience for you and your significant other to hike this awesome area together and then explore the city of Machu Picchu.
See the Florence Duomo
The Duomo in Florence is so amazing. Marty and I had a great time exploring not only the Duomo complex but all of Florence and the surrounding area.
We really recommend adding a trip to Florence to your couples bucket list.
Visit Dracula’s Castle
Dracula’s Castle, really named Bran Castle, sits perched above a valley in Transylvania, Romania.
Now a national monument, this castle dares you to come inside and learn about its intriguing history.
See the Castle that Inspired the Disney Castle
An easy day trip from Munich will lead you to the town of Fussen, Germany.
It is here that you will find the fabulous Neuschwanstein Castle. This famous castle inspired the Disney castle.
Just one look will have you seeing the resemblance. While you’re here, be sure you and your honey tour Fussen. It’s a great little city.
Float in the Dead Sea
The Dead Sea is actually a salt lake located between Jordan and Israel. Imagine how fun it would be for you and your loved one to float around all day without a care in the world!
Drive the Pacific Coast Highway
The Pacific Coast Highway is a gorgeous stretch of highway that runs along the Pacific Coast in California. Marty and I had the luxury of exploring a portion of this fabulous highway on our trip to San Diego.
I would love to one day drive the whole thing stopping at the little towns along the way!
Explore the Canals of Amsterdam
The glorious Amsterdam is made up of over 90 islands and 1500 bridges. That means there are a lot of canals in this area! I would love to spend the day exploring the canals and waterways of Amsterdam.
Ironically, Marty and I do have an Amsterdam stamp in our passports, but only because we had a short layover there once. LOL!
See St. Basil’s Cathedral
Another iconic structure, St. Basil’s Cathedral is located in Moscow. The stunning architecture and beautiful colors are what put this cathedral on our list!
Visit A Famous French Chateau
Of course, there are many famous French chateaus to choose from, but none are as popular as Versailles.
Versailles is a symbol of opulence and power and an easy day trip from Paris by train! If Versailles is too crowded for you, consider the fabulous Chateau Fountainebleau instead.
We chose Chateau Fountainebleau for this reason and loved it!
Oktoberfest in Munich
I know, I already mentioned Munich, but I didn’t talk about the epic experience of Oktoberfest. I would love to visit during the Oktoberfest festivities.
I bet this is one good party!
Carnival in Venice
Carnival in Venice will be the experience of a lifetime for me. I love Venice so much already, so I can only imagine how magical it must be during Carnival.
Did you know that all other Carnival celebrations stemmed from Venice? Yep!
Make Your Way to Mont Saint-Michel
The beautiful Mont Saint-Michel stands on an island between Normandy and Brittany. This UNESCO World Heritage site just beckons visitors to come and explore!
Drive Through the Black Forest
The Black Forest of Germany has intrigued visitors for years. This enchanting forest has been on my list for quite some time, but we have yet to visit.
I would love to drive through it stopping at the little bed and breakfast areas and indulging in the spas that are in the small towns.
Oh, and eat true Black Forest cake!
Bathe an Elephant
Now, I would only do this at an elephant sanctuary, not a place that lets you ride the elephants. They are such majestic creatures.
What an amazing bonding experience to bathe an elephant with your partner!
Final Thoughts on Our Couples Bucket List
Well, there you have it, our couples bucket list. While Marty and I have been busy checking items off of this list, you can see that we still have plenty to go. We would love to hear from you.

This is an amazing list for things to do as couple around the world. We have been to Venice, enjoyed the gelatos, tasted vine in Tuscany and done many more. But there is a lot on this list that we loved and are going to try on our next trips like the cruise through Greek waters!

So many of these are on my list! Definitely would love to do a helicopter ride over Hawaii with my fiance as my parents did that on their honeymoon!
